Hello, again! I’m back with another round of things I’ve been loving over the past week. First up are two items related to travel, followed by one from life at home!
Lately, I’ve been loving:
1.) Working on a book of photos from our recent trip to Prague and Budapest on Shutterfly.
One of my favorite souvenirs from any trip is the photo book I make after returning home. I love having all of my best and most loved pictures in one place for easy reminiscing and sharing with friends and family. I’ve been making my books through Shutterfly for almost twelve years at this point, and it’s amazing how far they’ve come with available layouts, customization options, and other features. While you can still rely exclusively on templates if that’s your thing (or even get the whole book made for you), I love creating my own pages from scratch or tweaking existing layouts to maximize the effect of my photos. It’s like digital scrapbooking!
Pro tip: I also am usually able to knock the price down considerably from what you see above (which reflects me adding a number of pages I may or may not use) by waiting for 50% off sales and free shipping promos.
2.) The 52 Places to Go in 2018 list from the New York Times
It’s no surprise that I look forward to this list every year and take copious notes for my “Vacation Ideas” Google doc. New Orleans was awarded the top spot for 2018, just in time for the city’s 300th anniversary, and there are lots of other exciting destinations featured with gorgeous photos to whet your travel appetite. It’s also a fun surprise to see places you’ve been pop up as you scroll through the list!
As for me, I was particularly excited about up-and-coming destinations like Basilicata, Italy and Liuwa Plain National Park in Zambia. Time to do some research!
3.) My new(ish) Skinnytaste cookbooks!
I have followed Gina Homolka over on Skinnytaste for over a year and have never been disappointed when trying one of her recipes, so imagine my delight when I received BOTH of her cookbooks for Christmas! My meal planning for the week after New Year’s Day included no fewer than five dishes from the new books, and I haven’t slowed down since. It’s refreshing to find healthful recipes that don’t sacrifice on taste or enjoyment, especially when bikini season is coming for me in just a couple of weeks!
That’s all for this week! I wish you all an excellent weekend and look forward to seeing you again on Monday!
